has anyone ever installed a cd player in a 1st gen max?
more specifically a 1983?
im having trouble with which wires are which
can someone please help?

you might want to try posting on the 1st gen board. If you get the manual you can check the wire, if you have the harness Red is switched 12+, Yellow is constant 12+, White and Gray are front speakers, purple and green are rear speakers.
