Things really didnt turn out the way I would have liked them. But hey it was my first time. Well First off I met confused(dont know his real name) for the second time. He walked up to my car and I said to myself I know that face. And i was right.
Aight to the time slips.

1st run:r/t-1.274(decided to take a little nap at the line)
60'-2.553(ouch)
1/4-15.456 at 91mph
2nd run:r/t-.960(nap was a little shorter this time)
60'-2.564(boo)
1/4-15.551 at 90.5 mph
Final run:r/t-.811(power nap)
60'-2.387
1/4-15.164 at 91.19mph
so now I realize its all about the start. My y pipe goes in monday so well see I can do at Maxus.

you have two great options here .. but your weak link is your launch and your ability to let out your clutch or something like that..

My Method

Rev it up to 4000 rpm.. and slowly let the clutch out till you hook.. and go.. i don't fully get off the clutch till i am in second gear.. could be harmful to your clutch in the future.. but it will pull you 2.0 to 2.1 60fts.. and if you had a 15.1 at 2.3 .. then you would be 14.7 to 14.8 with 2.0 and 2.1 ..

Rev it up to 2000 rpm.. let the clutch out.. get off the gas ... once you hook.. get back on the gas.. he can explain it better..

that was my old method, only good for 2.2s

My new method, good for easy 2.2s and a couple 2.1s:

rev to 2400.
drop the clutch and floor it, if you start spinning then back off for just a second, but if you are hopping and moving then you're doing ok.
when you are about to redline push the clutch in about 1/3 of the way in and shift to 2nd gear.

also.. drop your front tire pressure, it really makes a difference. Everytime I go to the track I forget this on the first run and when I get a 15.2 i know that I forgot once again

off topic... I got a new install, costs $10 and should help my 1/4 times a little... you'll welcome to try and guess. (clue=300ZX)

I cant wait to see what Im gonna run at Maxus with the y-pipe in. Maybe I should buy another mod this week to help me out a little more

if your car has over 60,000 then maybe you should throw in a R/T cat or test pipe when you have your y-pipe installed.. this way the install is easier/cheaper. An intake (even the $20 BrianV style will also help you.

Im guessing tha tyou have a 2K 5 speed. If your an auto and pull trap speeds like that then im impressed b/c i run sonsistent 15.5 w/ CAI only and my traps are @88mph. Are you stock?

The first time is always the hardest, ou will get faster everytime you go.. at least i do. hehe.

yup, i was there. only got two runs in but it didn't matter that much cause my clutch is slipping.
