02 Altima MT Article
#2
Just got finished reading the article. Here are the stats:
0-60mph:6.28 sec
1/4 mile:14.72@96.82
240HP@5800RMPS
246Ibs@4400RMPS
Got really good reviews. Styling looks real nice too. Only negative was that the test driver said it had alot of torque steer.

Wow...
Now I await flames from Max and Atl owners...I wonder waht happens when the first Alt guy posts his Max kill?
Also..the 4-cyl is no slouch...I mean 175hp and 180tq out of a 2.5 4-cyl...that betters the old Maxima VG('89-94)!

Seems like after reading motortrend and Autoweek, the Max turns out to be the loser. The Altima's new IRS from the skyline makes the car probably handle better than any car in its class. It'll probably spank the new Max. Yeah, I know about the 255hp blah blah blah... I think it is a time for a new era. 3 years from now, I see a lot of us will either have bimmers or if we do decide to go with Nissan and am value oriented, we'll probably be driving Altimas. The Max is gonna go the way of the Avalon and I personally don't wanna drive a boat.
At least the new Z and the G35 will carry on the performance image of Nissan. But we should all cheer the Max because for the past 5 years, it alone carried the burden of Nissans image car in the states (new cars anyway) for performance. Hail to the 4DSC!!!!
