What effect (if any) on 1/4 mile time does the addition of a front spoiler give you?

I put one on a few days ago and I dont know much about aerodynamics, I was just wondering if the front spoiler helps.

I have a 96 if it matters, I know Stillen's models vary slightly between the 96-96 models and so on.

Any change will be a bad one. The Stillen lip isn't engineered as an effective aerodynamic aid. It's just designed for looks. All you're doing is adding weight and drag.

Yeah thats what I thought, a friend of mine thought that I would in some way be pushing wind around the car rather than under it or something resulting in a more aerodynamic vehicle, I was kinda hoping he was right, oh well - atleast it looks cool.

I agree with mzmtg, but I wonder why they call it an Aero Kit then.

Aero kit- Possibly coined for marketing purposes ... can't speak for everyone w/ stillen bodykit, but a good number of us got it for cosmetic purposes, throw back being the added weight.

Um, I don't know about you but I weighed my front lip before putting it on and it was under 4lbs so as far as added weight goes, you probaly slow yourself down more getting into your car after eating that Big Mac trio..

Forgot to add that the extra weight for the entire kit is minimal (less than 7 lbs). Anyone ever actually weighed it?

The paint adds extra weight too right?

Yeah, and I have like 6 screws in it too.

97MaxGurl: what kind of headlights, cornering lights, and turn signal lights did you have? - I can't get mine to match at all - it bothers me. I know its pretty impossible to match perfectly but mine are really off. I have PIAA Platinum 9004 65w and Polarg hyperwhite everything else.

Same here...
I have PIAA 9004 Superwhite, Polarg hyperwhites in my clear corners/Sidemarker Lamps (w/ the Driver side sidemarker lamp busted). The color does not match. The Polargs have a slight blue-ish tint to them, VERY appearant especially with the PIAAs right next to it. I have Polarg amber signal bulbs (rear and front). IMO- wasted my $, same output as your OEM/generic amber bulbs.

Unless PIAA decide to make bulbs available for our sidemarker lamps, matching the color/intensity is, like you said, impossible

MrDeucie- What JoO talkin about? Those screws/paint add another 20hp

Nah- The weight of bodykit, screws, paint... all factors in very little, if any, on speed.
I can't say the same about my wheels though.

I had matching bulbs for a while I had APC headlights (stock wattage) and Polarg bulbs everywhere else. I burned out my 9004 high beams on both bulbs, and I burned out 3 corner bulbs. I really don't feel like replacing bulbs every year so I returned my car to stock bulbs.

Yeh man. Just the paint by itself is about 40 lbs.
