Xenon bulbs, what is the problem with....
NOT True HID
The Xenon bulbs are NOT True HID...
They are the Cheap version. The real HID's go for Min like $300.00 (I think)
Yes the Xenon bulbs are the ones I also sell

I see all these xenon bulbs for $20 on ebay, what is the deal? I thought HID's were very expensive... What would be the problems I run into if I install these cheap bulbs?

Xenon bulbs are... NOT worth it
I bought a set of these basic Xenon bulbs on EBay... they are "BioLight" brand, or something like that. Actually they look really nice. A bright white with bluish tinge to them. They don't look cheap.
HOWEVER, they are NOT an improvement in lighting. I would say they are slightly less effective than good quality halogen 9004 bulbs. I can only guess that they'll be slightly better in winter, as there would be less of a blinding light reflecting off the white snow. But overall, on dimly lit roads where I wouldn't bother to use my driving lights (or "fogs"), I end up using them now.
About the wattage, you have to be careful. A good number of these will work fine. But the extra high powered ones (100w+) will most likely melt your wiring--a wiring harness upgrade is essential. It could be that with these higher powered ones requiring a wiring harness, the increased wattage compensates for the dimmed effect of the cheaper ones.
Another thing--the coating on the tips of these bulbs are not durable. If you're not careful, you can scrape the stuff right off. Costlier higher quality bulbs don't have this problem.
