What I mean is do you also clean the inner wheel well of each rim? I try to wash everything, although trying to clean the inner wheel well is kind of hard due to the lack of space. Of course, it could be easier to clean if you take the rims off, but that might be a bit too much. Or do you clean the outside of the rim thoroughly and the inside of the rim just so-so? When I get rid of my "tar" problem(see other post), I want to put some wax onto each rim. Do I need to put wax on the inside of the rim as well? It's pretty hard to get in there like I said. Should I just wax the outside and not worry about the inside? I hope my ramblings can be understood.

I do the inside monthly because you need to take the rim off to do a rood job.

PS can you make it over tomorrow to do some transmission bench pressing, check your PM's.

i waxed mine a couple weeks ago and all i did was the outside. it really helped. i don't really clean the inside, it's too much of a pain and as long as i can't see the brake dust, it's ok w/ me!

basically, i clean off whatever i can see.

I have the same wheel. I get in there with a wheel brush, no problem! I wash them regularly. I could see if it's been a while, you'd need to thoroughly clean them removed from the vehicle. In the future you can use a wheel brush, it will also fit between ( Once broken in ) the caliper and wheel!

I have a wheel brush too. The problem is I don't wash my rims often enough, so there's builtup. Anyway, I think it's not that hard to clean the inside, but trying to wax it is another story; although it might not be necessary.

If I were you' I'd just go through the painstaking process of removing the wheels and clean them! Use straight " simple green " and a tile brush. Once clean, use wax and clean regularly. Often I'll dry wipe with a polish cloth.

I don't wash inside except when the wheels are off. i.e. winter. It's too hard and I can't do a good job so I don't do it.

As for wax on the rims I did it once and I am not doing it again. I find that the wheels got stickier to dust, maybe because the wax when heated gets sticky. (Meguire's gold class)

A few days ago I finally cleaned my rims, each of em off of the car. It was safisfying to get all of the brake dust off of the hard-to-rearch areas.

and all of the dust buildup where the balance weights are.

You may want to take them off once a year and clean them if you have time and feel like doing this. Also maybe can turn the front wheels to one side and then the other and lay down with a towel and try to clean them that way on the inside of the wheeel.I have a small brush that i clean the inside and the calipers with it does a good job still dont get them all the way clean though
