I know this was brought up before---sorry Bill, yet again I failed to find anyting on your "search feature." My question is, who did this and is there a write up somewhere. I am bored as hell today and am looking for something to do to my car.

Thanks,
SHUMAX

I bought a pack of like 7 sheets of silver-metal gutter mesh from Home Depot for 10 bucks. I then bought a spool of wire tie for like 2.25. I used wire cutters and made grilles for my top, and lower 2 air dams.

So it was around 12.25 for me. I think it's 2 bucks for the cheep plastic stuff (I bought that at first).

But I used all of my 7 metal sheets. It's good b/c I screwed some up and got to start over.

hmmm

Sounds good, but can you see the wire ties? I assume not, but thought I would ask. How about scraping the paint on your bumper when you installed it? What did you fasten it to?

Thanks,
SHUMAX

Any pics?

You cannot see the wire tires when looking at the grille from in front of the car. (Up close and far away) The only time you can see the little ties is when you are standing at an angle up close. ]

I scraped the paint a little (a few nickle sized scratches). I fitted in the new mesh, and tied it to the back side of the bumper. (I popped the hood, went in the backside, and their were little places here and there where I was able to fasten everything securely and tightly to)

Good Luck !

shumax arent you a 95-96? the grilles arent done differently for each, my sig has them in my front bumper conversion, i took off (pulled back) the black plastic under the car and slid them up from there, mine did cst me about $2.58 or something near that, if not check the post about black rims in the general forum, the guy has pics of his, oh and in the search use poorman's $2 cosmetic makeover or something like that

How did you attach your grill to your lower valence? And did you have to remove the bumper. I assume that you did the bumper conversion and thus did the grill at that point in time.

sexima is funny, well ive had the conversio for like 3 months, but i did the grills last weekend, the gutter gaurd had metal clips which i attached to the bumper at the bottom, then i bent the top part flat but a little to big o it would push against the top and hold it tight, i removed the 6 screws that held the black plastic under the car on the front, pulled it back a little and slid it up behnd the grill, didnt even haveto worry about scratching the paint
