How does insurance deal with mods? Right now my car is getting repaired, and it made me think. Now, I know they have to repair the car to the state that it was before, so my company is buying me new Monsoons, and they would have to buy new Koni's if need be, etc..

But if they total the car, do they include that in the check you get, of can you strip your stuff off the car and then they give you book value?

If it is your own insurance they usually cover a $1000 with your policy, anything beyond that you have to purcahse additional coverage, some companies will not cover of 4 or 5 thousand dollars....
If it someone elses insurance they should cover everything, but good luck.

Do you mean $1000 for mods, or bettement of the car? IE - I just talked to my insurance company, the they are writing me a check for $3700 in damages.

Well, when some idiot crashed into the front of my car, I made his insurance buy me new clear corners. They just needed a receipt to know how much they cost. I still had it because I only had the car for two months.
