2000+ Keyfobs work with 4th Gen?
#1
Hi guys,
I have a question about my keyfobs. The pictures the buttons are fading and the keyfobs are scratched up. It doesn't bother me too much, but if I can, I want to get new keyfobs for my car.
I like the 2000+ style because they are more compact and I don't have to worry about pictures fading because they're engraved into the keyfob and not on the buttons. Will the 2000+ style keyfobs work with my car? If so, where can I get some? If they won't work, where can I get the regular '97 style ones?
Also, I'd like to get a copy of my key made. I want it to be the same shape as the one I already have so it looks like the actual Nissan key. Where is the best place to get this done? How much am I looking at?
Thanks,
-Nick

Hey Nick,
I had some keyfobs made, a set of 3. Two were genuine Nissan ones, and one was a generic one without the logo (but still black).
I think the genuines aren't expensive at all...I think we paid around $30 for all 3? hmm or maybe I'm wrong. But I don't remember having that "wtf! A ripoff!" feeling in me when I got 'em. Or maybe I was just too excited since I just bought the car used and didn't care. LOL.
But good luck finding your items. BTW, I bought a keyfob for about $28 shipped, from eBay. And it was brand new.

Well, I was in the market for 2 brand new ones. I guess I'll have to stick with the style that I already have. I was hoping that the 2000+ style ones work with my car, but I guess it doesn't really matter.
Thanks for all your help guys.
