Hi everyone, I was thinking about getting a racing straight pipe that would replace the cat for my car for use at the track but I dont know much about them. Anyone have one or have an opinion about them? Let me know what you guys think!

When you say for track use do you plan on taking it off for street driving? at any rate, be prepared for a strong exhaust smell ( some dont mind it that much....like me )
and a louder exhaust, gains will be minimal at top end unless other exhaust/intake mods are utalized........

I'll probably keep it on for awhile once i get it installed to see how it feels Do you notice a big gain or is it minimal?

If your not running any other intake/exhaust mods, running a straight pipe instead of a cat will show little to no gains and will probably add an increase of noise to your exhaust.......

Well with your stock set-up mabye not that much , but if it does it wont sound very clean, i suggest a muffler or cat-back set up before doing this mod........

ok one last question, Im assuming you have one cuz u hinted at it. How much did yours cost? I can get one for $70 and I think I might get it and wait until I get my exhaust set up to put it on.

I actually just gutted my cat so mine was free, unless you plan on doing the work yourself you have to find a muffler shop to put it on and that can be hard if you dont know anyone,by "law" they will only replace a cat with another cat........

would it be better to just shell out more cash for the RT cat or is the straight pipe worth it?

Mine onlt smells when the car is cold started. Once it is warm'd up it goes away.

Save your money and get the straight pipe not the RT cat.

Ahhh the grapevine fails again. Glad to here your's is fine. LSD is good!

Ive had some other issues develop with the motor that I have been instructed not to talk about until the big $ issue is resolved pending litigation. I'll post about it in a few weeks or so. But I think you can figure it out.
