They are excellent tires. I recommend them. It was raining when I left Butler Tire, so I went to my favorite twisty hilly country road near my house and tested the wet-weather grip, with good results. The magazines say that they are better than the T1 Pluses that they replace, and I believe it (I had T1 Pluses before these). I think that all of the race cars in the Speedvision Touring Car and GT series use the T1-Ss. They look like they're one step below an F1 intermediate.

yes the T1-S are really nice tires and expensive too.
For some crazy ballz out performance, try a set of S0-3's, they are a bit pricey also, even the discontinued S0-2's are still one of the best gripping tire.

Those Bridgestones wear out really fast, though. I got 40K miles out of my Toyo Proxes T1 Pluses with regular hard driving.

HoLY ****!

190$ per tire!!!!

If I do decide on 17's I'd go with Kumho's or SP5000 or SP8000 Dunlops...

Doing a little research this morning, I talked to a tire shop guy who sells both the the SO 3's as well as the T1 S.
He recommends the Bridegstones for all out performance and better wet handling, but says they are only good for about 24,000 miles. On the other hand, the Proxes is almost as good and should get about 45,000 miles out of it, according to him.
Canadian prices: Proxes: $301.00 canadian
Potenza:$275.00

the S0-3's last longer then the S0-2's. S0-2's had wear rating of 180 while S0-3's are 220 rated. S0-2's lasted my uncle's Porsche 16,000 with occisional track duty.

My top four tire choices

Since I run 235/40/18, so the selection is limited.

1. Toyo Proxy T1S - Awesome wet and dry. A little pricy
2. Bridgestone RE730 - Favorite among .org members
3. Kumho Supra 712 - Inexpensive for the performance
4. Dunlop SP9000 - About the same peformance and $ as the T1S.
