I am getting sick and tired of my ugly brown dashboard and tan seats. I am looking around junk yards for a totalled max with black interior. I will swap seats, door panels, carpet, and roof liner. I was wondering if anyone knew how to remove the dashboard, and how difficult would it be? I have a friend who can help me with the airbags.

your best bet on this is to get the chilton's or haynes maunual to the car and look at a dash spec on where all the screws are and what all comes out.. I have taking apart the whole center console, dash, glove box, and have seen many screws back there.. I think this manual is the best.. or when you get the stuff out of the junked max, simply watch how they take it out or if you do it then that is you car to experiment on. It's a lot of work because out dash has a lot of interconnected parts and such. Hope this helped.

I agree with thebigsadler

You'll need the schematics for this one so you won't have any extra bolts when the job is done.

Thanks for the help guys. My former high school cross country coach owns a body shop, so I think he will be able to help me carry out the installation of the new dashboard. You should see some of the stuff he does to wrecked cars.
