I'm trying to see if I can accomplish a good 60 foot time without wiping out my clutch like I did last friday. I launched at 5000 RPMs or so. What I did was at the 1st light I revved up the engine, at the 2nd light I started dropping and I engaged the clutch when the light turned green. Anyway I got a good 60 foot time of 2.188, and a 1/4 at 14.655 @ 92.97 mph. 225/50 16 BFG Comp T/A V rated tires (heated up, hehe), stock everything else with my stereo and spare in the trunk. Where does everybody else launch off at, and what are your traction mods, and what is the resulting 60 foot?

You can't ask for a much better 60' time than that.

Your 2.18 60 foot is about as good as you'll do with fwd and street tires. You need a lot more torque multiplication to get off the line quicker. Since you're launching at 5000, chances are you're coming off the line right at peak tq (4200-4400rpms) which is ideal. Without anymore torque, your car can't get out any quicker. Drag radials are pretty much your only option. They will reduce any wheelspin you're getting and will possibly get you closer to a 2.10 60 foot. The guys that are pulling 1.9-2.0 60 foots are running NOS or SCs which increase torque iin the mid to high rpms. If you can launch at 5000, then your track is pretty freaking good.

Next time, loose the spare and stereo so it's not an excuse to a slower et. If you want to be quick, then get rid of the excess junk like tools, spare tires, gas, and stereos.

I launch at 2400-2500 and pop the clutch. I get anything from a high 2.1 to a low 2.2
