OMG!!! 2002 Altima 3.5 just ran me!!!!

I did not expect this. Car had new tags still, and I guess he wanted to see if he could take me?!!? All I can say, is that he did see my tail lights. This was off the line. I think it was a auto, (sounded like one), but I pulled 1 car on him by 60, then we let off. I am impressed for the auto, but not impressed enough.

Wooohooo1!!!

Wait for that 5spd Altima, or 6spd Max, I wanna run!

Good job! I have driven a 2K Max w/auto and I think it would be a damn tight race but I think I could outpull on the high end so we should still be able to take auto Altimas but I expect an ***-whoopin' from a manual. Maybe I'll get me one.

I drove a 02 Maxima SE Automatic, and I was VERY impressed.

Very strong, even off of the line.

It pushed me harder and harder back into the seat right up to redline!

It felt faster and stronger than a CL Type S I drove a while back!

The 6 speed should be

Yes I lost....to Ants, but it was more of a tie. If we kept going I might have eventually pulled him back behind me again.

Dont you just hate that? I feel the same when I see Corvettes of year ( Corvettes are my dream car) being driven by old ladies or guys going 40 on the highway. Almost felt my heart ripped out when I seen a girl in one the other day with one painted hot pink and a big ugly two tier wing on the back that was two small across (looked like it was off a civic) going down the road with rims that were like they do with like broncos where they have the wheels sticking out about 6 inches. Almost made me sick.

WOw guys, I just came back from the dealer, and checked out the showroom. There was a white Altima and Maxima Standing Side-by-side and I came in from where you can see the frontends. Just one thing I have to says is, Why would you buy the 2k2 max, the Altima looks so much better then the max. The Inside is so much bigger then mine, arrgggg It was like i was in a truck but smaller, and nicer looking. Only if i had taken pics for you guys. Also it was only tagged at 29K same as the max it was the 3.5S

Umm no you were not. I let off at 115 due to a car in front of me. You were a half a car in front of me, and I was edging you back but didn't have the room to catch back up. And guess what.... My filter was coming off on the bottom, it was open where it meets my maf, so that might be the reason why you actually beat me this time instead of me beating you the last 3 times. Car feels alot more peppier.

Russ-
I have normally taken your side, but come on "Your filter was coming off so that might be the reason you lost?" Maybe your tire pressure was too low too? It's ok to loose once in a while---especially to a modded version.

You don't understand. We have ran many times before and I have pulled pretty good on him on the highway. Nothing changed on our cars, and this time that was the result. So when I went to the autox yesterday, they checked over my car in tech and found the filter coming off. I was like, damn I even checked that that night, but it was too dark to really see well. So I fixed that, and now the car really feels much stronger.

Heh, there was no car anywhere, I shut it down because of the hill. Besides, last time we raced from Austin and you pulled on me I didn't have my CAI and you were stock. Musta been that O2 sensor...

Dude, settle down, we ran like 3 or 4 times, the time heading N on 35, when we took off at the top of one hill, there was no one in front of us, I shut it down because the next hill was coming up and didn't want to be caught by a cop over the hill. That was the race where we got up to 110-120. I was at like 5,500 RPMS in 4th. That's when I was about a car ahead of you. You ran going to MadVWs hide and did leave me going S on 35, I wasn't racing, I stayed back. That's why it took me like 10 minutes to catch up to you guys.

I pulled on Russ in a couple runs from 50-90mph I think I got him by 1 car and still was pulling when I let off. He was stock at the time. We ran from a stop, twice, and he got me. No excuses, on my part. Whether Russ will admit it or not, his best is a 15.3@91mph and mine is a 14.7@94mph....and I'm only getting faster

Yep you did. My car since that intake has completely woken up. I just really want to see what it runs now. I bet I can hit at least 14.9 or better.

I always thought maxima meets/get togethers were fun and everyone was cool. I met up with coolmax once and mechanic here in buffalo and a few guys in Canada....I wouldn't dream of getting all worked up over a race...

Yeah, it's just a race, if someone wins, I'll admit it and give them props and try not to make excuses about why I lost. I just take that as I need to put some more money into my car or need to learn how to drive better.

You should easily be in the 14.9s with a better 60 foot. I still think those super heavy 17s are killing your topend. I'd bet you'd see atleast a .2 drop in et without those things. It would probably be more of a bang for the buck than a Y-pipe
