Maxima O2 sensors >>>>>>>
I have a 1995 SE and the Engine Check light came on about a week ago. One of the codes is the O2 sensor I can't remember which one, but looking through the past service history of the car (I am the second owner) the previous owner had 2 of the 3 O2 sensors replaced before. Are Nissan O2 sensors really that cheaply made that they go bad really quick ???
It might not be your O2 sensor, it might just mean that your ECU is to sensitive. I had my 96 SE for 2 1/2 years, and the first 6 months the engine light came on all the time. The owner before me said that he had this problem also, but the dealer said nothing was wrong. It was the 02 sensor code, but the 02 sensor was working fine. So the dealer added parts to my ECU,(I believe), and made it less sensitive. Doesn't go off anymore. However, my car was still under warranty and it was free. It might be cover though if you ask you dealer about it because I believe it was a recall because a lot of 95-96 models were having this problem. Anyway, this might not be your problem, but it was mine and this is just what my dealer told me. If I am wrong about the recall someone please correct me.
