Where do y'all with the concealed display hide your Valentine 1's? I am paranoid about people jacking stuff from my car, I would assume that people would want to steal V1s. Or do you guys actually take physically take it out of your car when you leave? Thanks for the advice. I REALLY REALLY want one of those 1.8s now. Damn this board! Heh. Back in the day, I thought *STOCK* was nice, too.

 

for best performance of the radar detector.. you should mount it where the manufacture recomends you mount it.. but as for the concealed display.. i custom mounted mine.. alotta ppl have it in between their speedo and tachometer.

 

Err I meant where to mount the actual V1, sorry if I was unclear. Since I don't have a V1 yet, I was just curious where you guys mounted it. thanks

 

I mount mine right in the middle of the windshield, for best results.

 

Hell yea, they'll steal it! Depending on where you park regularly, getting your car broken into or outright stolen should always be a concern. Especially if you have alot of 'lookit me!' type mods. If you're unsure about the safety of the area, just pop the detector out of it's mount and put it in the glove box, or take it with you.

Mine V1 unit is mounted behind the rear-view mirror below the top tint line and just so the rearward sensor peeks out from behind the mirror. This way it is not easily visible from the rear of the car.

My concealed display is mounted right behind the steering wheel atop the steering column. This way a glance down is all I need to check the direction.
