What's the best way to install..............

A stillen front lip on a 96 max? I just got mine today and it's getting painted, but I don't want to just use the doublesided tape because that does not not seem like it will hold up very will. Any suggestions.

I think a few screws.

Put them from the inside of the wheel well into the lip. You could try from under the bumper into the lip too. This is what I recall, I don't even have one yet.

I just asked someone today about fitting, painting, and installation of the front lip. he told me about $250. He also said that it will probably be about $380 to paint the whole kit.

NO WAY! Just the front lip is $250?!!!

Do you think 70% of the efforts is to do ONLY the front?

i installed my front lip, took about 20min. DO NOT use the Stillen supplied tape!!
stuff you need:
- 3m body molding (double sided tape, $8 a roll)
- rubbing alcohol and towel
- 5-6 self tapping screws
- small drill bit
- skinny/long screws(1.5" long")
- screw gun

First clean off the lower part of your bumper with some rubbing alcohol very well. Then do the inside of the lip where it will meet the bumper when installed. Then use the 3m tape and run it along the entire backside of the lip(close to the top edge). Now place the lip up to the car. Start on one side and work your way around. Now where the lip wraps around(ends) to the inside of the fender well, use 1 screw to secure it to the fender tightly. Make sure you hold the lip as tight as possible to the fender before you screw it in. Repeat for the other side.
Now jack up the front of your car so you can get underneath with no problems. Press the front of the lip up to the bumper so there is no longer a huge gap in there. Pre-drill 3-5 holes along the backside of the lip into the bumper. Take some skinny/long screws and screw them into your predrilled holes. **make sure you dont go through the bumper and out the front** i almost did this not paying attention.
DONE!!
the lip should be pretty much evenly secured all the way around fender-fender.

goodluck,
Anthony

I am guessing the $40 was for the paint. You see, your car is black which is an easy paint color. Mine is "Icelandic Pearl" and the paint itself, I was quoted, was $70.

It would definitely look very sharp!)

Painted mine for 3 bucks...lol and can't tell...be damn if I put a new paint just for the lip..all that will do is show how ****ty the rest of the paint is...also...use bolts under the lip..that's what I did...and on the fenders...can't trust tape....but I spray painted mine with car touch up and for the peeps in the Midwest that seen my car...u can't even tell the difference ....but the reason I did that also is that im getting my car painted next year...but even if I wasnt' I still wouldn't pay 250.00 for that...
