Question about the Variable Capacity Muffler

On the new Altimas the I4 has the Variable Capacity Muffler, but the V6 doesn't. Why is that?

possibly

they may have used the same system, but instead on placing the valve in the muffler itself like the single muffler Nissans, they may have decided to put the valve in the B-pipe or X-pipe that would split the exhausts into a dual. Unless they are independent like some of the BMWs.
