03 G35 VS 02 max?

I have had my heart set on getting a 6spd max for a while now, but every time I see and hear about the G35 I get second thoughts . What would you rather get and why? Let's put a side the money factor for the time being becuase it should be pretty close and resale value will more then make up the difference. If for some reason you don't know what the G35 looks like, check out my sig! Thanks for the input fellas .

Will the G35 come with a stick? If so I would get it over a Maxima any day.

Heh good question. If $ is no object then I would take the most expensive one, sell it, and buy what I want.

Joke aside, the G35 is supposed to be more powerful, hand better, RWD, and Infiniti. Have to wait and see because it could be a let down, or a great surprise.

The car was released in Japan earlier this year and the reviews have raved about how nice the car is! The same should hold true over here, plus it will have a bigger engine in the U.S. . BTW thanks for the great input!

Ethan, I think you will be very pleased with Infiniti G35. Nissan is working relentlessly to make their Infiniti brand a killer. Without a doubt, you will not be disappointed with the G35.

The new G35 is the way to go. It has the power, suspension, rwd and the skyline platform. Can't wait to see how the real car looks like in 2002. Hope the price tag will not be overpriced.

Mishmosh, Rumor has it, it will base at $28K. Supposedly it is suppose to be more affordable then the I35. A 30K price would not suprise me though.

Check out this link in nissan japan guys, it has a cool little video and a bunch of pics and stuff. And no I have no qlue what hell they are talking about.,lol. http://www.nissan.co.jp/SKYLINE/V35/...SEN/index.html

Yeah, and rumor had it that a fully-loaded Altima would sticker at below $25k. I'd wait to see the official pricing before anyone gets too worked up about this car. It looks great on paper, but it could still turn out to have some major flaws.

Maybe you missed my 3rd sentence ? BTW keep in mind this car is competing with the IS300 very closely in market shares and the lex starts at $29K. Also like I said before this car has been in Japan for months allready so I think if there was any major "flaws" we would know abour them by now.

I did read your 3rd sentence, but I've read so many posts ragging on the Altima for being more expensive than "rumored." It's not Nissan's fault, they didn't start the rumors. I personally would be more surprised to see the G35 start at 28k than I would at 30 or even 31k.

At 28k, it would compete too much with the Maxima and the Maxima doesn't seem to have any advantages at all over it. Although I guess that could change with the 6th gen Max. Wouldn't it be interesting if the 6th gen Max turned out to be a rebadged G35? I know it's been said that the new Max will be built on the Altima platform, but still...

As for the Japanese reviews being positive, well, look at all the printed reviews of the Altima here. All the magazines and newspapers love it. But actual people looking at the cars have found flaws big enough to make them not consider the car anymore. And isn't it possible that Nissan will screw the car up in preparing it for the US market and the Infiniti line?

The snow thing does bother me. Chances are I would have to get a beater or a cheap 4X4 for winters. BTW even though the G35 will cost a little bit more then the max I am willing to bet it will hold it's value a lot better, so in the end it's all kinda the same.

This car will not be in the same class as the Max. I think it will be more popular with the yuppies though like Saabs.

I have a feeling it will cost a lot more than a Max. It would probably be compared to the higher 3 series bimmers, saabs. low end Benz, etc.

Heres a few things to think about when trying to figure out it's price tag. In Japan the base model starts at $22K US and the top model starts at $26K. So from that info it would be a good guess that the car will not be too too expensive. Another thing is the G35 is supposed to be below the I35 in price but above the G20. From the info above I think it's safe to say that the car will at most start at $30K, I think it will be a few bucks under $30K personaly.

No Contest

After reading "Asian" Magazines, every single Article have said How "Great" the car is.

The G35 (Skyline) is all about Grace, the near 50/50 Balance, the Suspension is all geared towards handling.

Its gonna hve the 3.5VQ, so no worries about the Engine.

Its Infiniti so its gonna be made in Japan, plus the quality is gonna be better.

PLUS its gotta live up to the "SKYLINE" namesake.

Its got everything the MAXIMA has ... plus a LOT LOT LOT more.
NO CONTEST ... Skyline vs Maxima. We're at a loss here for SURE!
