Sears Damaged my rim
Well, I have a pretty much stock 99 SE. Turns out that I had a nail (or a screw as I live in a neighbourhood with a lot of new houses being built) in the rear passenger tire.
Went to sears last week to get the screw removed and the tire patched. They told me that they balance the tire too. Well, when I got my car back, they had scraped out some paint on the rim (about 30 % of the circumference) by moving the weight while balancing the tire. BUT they had bad scuff marks on the top portions of the rim at TWO places 1 about 2 inces long anf the other about 1 inch long under the new location of the wight in addition to the normal small scuff mark at the location where the wight was originally.
So, I take the car back and show it to the manager and he agrees to buy me a new stock Nissan rim and all. I just got a call from him that they have my new rim in the store. Now the question. Do these guys give you a new or a used rim? Also is this going to be a stock one or an aftermarket one. Also, how can I identify if it is stock or aftermaket?
Any tips? I need the tips in like 3 hours or less before I go to Sears.
Thanks and my apologies for makeing this too long

I didn't know any companies made replica stock nissan rims, but if it looks the same and drives the same does it really matter, they are giving you a free one. Are you allowed to keep the old one? you can get it refinished for $50 and sell the free one they gave you?

Since they said that they would not let me buy the rim, I am guessing they would not let me keep the old one.

I have already told 'em if I can look at the rim before they install it. They told me that yes I can and also that it is in a box. So, I am hoping it is a geniune product and this time they won't mess it up. Also, in the earlier post I meant that they would not let me buy a new rim myslef. I just called them to ask about the damaged one and they said that they might keep it and sell it as a refurb one or sell it to a refurbisher but they did tell me that they DO NOT let the customer buy it.

their is a company called AAA that makes them. I seen them could not tell from the OEM, unless you look inside the rim, it should have the Nissan Logo...theirs had the AAA logo.Other than that could not tell between the two.
