Well I noticed mechanic friend of mine just put on Toyota 4-runner twin piston calipers on his 70' 240z. It was BOLT-ON. So I took his old 240 caliper to compare w/ the max. It's a no go folks. Sorry. But if I ever get my hands on a set of Supa TT brakes, I'll check again. These brakes are supposed to be much superior to the 300z brakes. But then again the 300z ones are bolt on and who knows for the Supra ones. If they are THAT superior, I might look into a custom bracket dealy thing but that's much into the future. Besides the last time I looked, Supra brakes are mucho dinero.

You're looking at $1000+ for just the front calipers and rotors and pads, plus whatever it cost to have proper fitment.

All RWD/AWD Nissans/Infinitis have the same flange mount on the front. That means Skyline, 300ZX, 240SX and Q45 brakes are directly exchangeable between cars. None are direct bolt-ons to any Nissan FWD cars. Nissan FWD cars have different flange offsets that require a change in rotor diameter to fit. The side offset is the same, so no shims are ever necessary.

For the Skyline R32 4-piston directionally vented and crossed drilled brakes to fit; I had to cut off the backing plates, shave the lip off the lower control arms(the rotors are .5" thicker than Maxima rotors), cut down the diamter of the rotors and have custom brake lines made. The Skyline brake calipers have differnet flared fittings and the line mount is almost 2" further than the Maxima line mount loccation, so custom lines were made by SMC for my application. The cost of the whole project with all new parts(front rotors, front calipers, front caliper shims, front caliper clips, front caliper pins, SMC custom made SS brake lines for all 4 corners, Brembo cross-drilled rear rotors and Axxis Deluxe pads on all 4 corners was about $1300. Keep in mind that I did all the labor myself, so that was just part cost. But, it is a bargain compare to just the front Brembos or Alcons that run about twice that.

As far as brake effectiveness, these brakes never fade. I would estimate that they drop 80-0 braking distances at least 50 ft. The faster I go, the more effective they are. Just ask Wicem how my brakes stack up to stock brakes. We did 3 roll-ons. On the last one with both of us braking around 120 mph, his brakes were completely toasted and mine weren't even working hard yet. I was several car lengths ahead of him when we started braking and I could smell his brakes burning off as he went by me under braking. The only problem I have with them is keeping them from locking up since I don't have ABS. I had no problem locking them up at 90 mph in the dry before. This is one mod I will never regret.

Skyline brakes kick ***

Believe it or not I still remember that ride Loren gave us at the dallas meet last year. His car stopped from 90 so fast, I though I was gonna lose my stomach. That was right after we ran down a Type R and he hit the shoulder to get away .
