Humm...

Wonder what their definition of most popular is.
With the Taurus at 35th, way behind the Maxima at 12th, it can't be units sold.

That sounds like a weird way to do a survey. I research cars all the time, doesn't mean I want to buy them.....

Oh well.

According to carpoint.msn.com, The top 10 best-sellers through june 2000 is as follows:

1. Ford F-Series (472,349)
2. Chevrolet Silverado (334,591)
3. Ford Explorer (237,197)
4. Toyota Camry (219,862)
5. Ford Taurus (216,446)
6. Dodge Ram (196,356)
7. Honda Accord (192,620)
8. Ford Ranger (191,637)
9. Honda Civic (167,574)

Yep, only 4 of the top 10 are cars.

Personally, I'm glad that the Maxima is not in the top 10. The most popular cars also get stolen the most.

3. Chevy Full-size Pickup
4. Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee
5. Handovera Civic
6. Olds Cutlass
...

The only other car in both lists is the Camry.

I can't explain why the Cutlass is on there (same reason as Cherokee probably), but the reason that the Cherokee is on the list is because it was one of the top 10 bestsellers in previous years, and therefore there's a lot of them on the road. Remember the top 10 bestsellers list on Carpoint is only for 2000 sales, whereas thieves get their pick of any model year.
