SCCA Maxima

Not sure if anyone's mentioned this, or if it's been up for a while, but I thought it was cool.

Believe it or not. He didn't. He has Cattman coilovers, and you can actually lower your car that low. when I first put mine on, I lowered mine all the way just to see what it looked like, and the front wheel was tucked into the fender.

I think he has the coilovers set so the nose is about 2" closer to the ground than the rear. By having the ends at different heights the weight on each wheel changes, by having the front down more it gets more weight. This helps a FWD car with traction coming out of corners.

That's pretty neat. I was toying with the idea, but the max is my daily driver, so it's not really a great idea. Too bad I don't have more money, or I'd definitely want to start doing the same sort of thing.

What's stopping ya? I'd say 80% of the cars that compete are, or could be, daily drivers. The Stock class is all daily drivers, they don't allow many mods so it's perfect. And since it's only $20 or so for a day it's cheap.

$$$ for new brake pads/rotors all the time Seriously, a lot of stuff goes faster when you run the car like that...I can't afford it ATM lol. But I know people who do it--both on a auto-x only car, and on their daily drivers. It's a lot of fun, so I hear, and you don't have to set up a car crazy like to compete in the lower classes.

Drag racing is a lot harder on driveline components than autocrossing. About the only thing you wear out pretty quick are brake pads and tires.
