AT DEALER IN PHILLY LAST WEEK

i was at the dealer last week getting moms car fix and i was talking to the dealer. he told me they already have seen photos and it will have awd and possibliy the 3.7 engine. but those will be options or Maybe SE-R package.
he also told me to google 2009 maxima and i will see a picture of it and he said its the greenish teal one. but all i have found is Intima concept

i agree with that but i been in and out of dealers and this dude was going to show me there papers on it but couldn't find it. so its possible he lying and maybe telling truth and from what he was saying it makes sense he was telling me about some other one that was coming over here like the new to us Cube to compete with the xb and the quest redesign. and told me about the ex37 g37 sedan b4 i read about it few days later

I think Honda owners slap on more stickers on their cars than all other cars combined. Anyone agree?

The SE came with 5 speed manual tranny, all chrome was blacked out, black spoiler on the rear, sport seats, and sunroof were standard. But it had exactly the same engine, wheels and HP as the GL. There was no SE-R as such.

I owned one of each, and put well over 200,000 miles on the GL, and the engine was running just fine when I finally let it go.
Yep the only thing is the spoiler is not black, this is a 85 SE

No maxima has had the SE-R designation. SE-Limited is different, and the SE-R variant has only been on the 200SX, Sentra and Altima. Hopefully it will stay that way.
why you hope they stay that way?

and how much more goodies they can throw on the maxima.
a stiffer suspension, awd...i dunno.

and the infiniti m30 imo is considered a 2 door 3rd gen.

Sorry to be slightly off topic but this thread reminded me about how thankful I am that I don't see anyone with a GTR emblem on their Maxima any more. That was a fad in the early 2000s that I am very glad died.

When I kind of think about it, the 92-94 Maxima SE is probably the closest thing that a Maxima "SE-R" Nissan has had.

It is the only Maxima with a distinctive higher horsepower engine from the standard (GXE, GLE, etc.) model, like the Sentra SE-R vs the standard Sentra.

If they come out with a new SE-R Maxima, I imagine it will be too big more for most current 2nd-5th gen Maxima owners' tastes.

I forget his username, but IIRC he's been trying to sell his car for a while now. I have tons of pics of his nice car. He has a 4runner hood scoop molded into his hood. Awesome craftsmanship and looks killer.

Actually, there is such a thing as a Maxima SE-R. To my knowledge, they haven't produced it as of yet, however I'm aware that one exists, or will soon exist, because of receiving an ad/brochure for an Nissan Maxima SE-R from Hummels Nissan in Ames Iowa. If I can find it, I will take a pic of it and post it.
