. I put my SC on my I30 when it had 42K miles. The oem clutch slipped from day one, but after 1000 miles it became almost undriveable. I suggest you replace the clutch with a ACT unti before getting a SC, either that baby the car until you get a new clutch.

Sorry to be off topic, but an auto tranny could slip too right? How can you tell when the auto tranny is slipping? Would I have to worry about that since I got the VB already?

You'll step on the gas, it'll rev, but it won't move and it might catch then jerk forward. Or it might slip between shifts(rev real high cuz its not catching) and shift slow, really slow..

Thanks. Hm...if that's the case, my tranny might be slipping a bit. It's more of your first example however. It doesn't happen often, just from time to time.

do you have to break in the new clutch for a few hundred miles?

My clutch is fine at 50K miles, but I'm planning on installing a lightened flywheel and upgrade the clutch when I start have problems or slipping. I think I'm going to stay NA, so I think it'll be awhile until I upgrade the tranny components.
