I have a 1990 Nissan Maxima GXE. It is black. With 165,000 miles on it. The engine works great, but I just unloaded $650 on the tranny, $150 on brakes, $275 on new belts and water pump. Is it time to sell? I'm gettin worried. And I only bought it in July.
You have to evaluate how much the car is going to cost you vs. how much on a new car......
Or you can just go on impulse and get a new ride....
I usually hang onto cars until they go bonkers.

My '92 GXE has 137k.
So far I've done the muffler, struts, brakes, and the tranny. Now it's starting to leak oil. I got it at a REALLY good deal though so I can't complain.
If you don't have any other problems with it, keep it.

I have a 1988 Nissan GXE with
138k miles on it. Car still running good. No tranny stuff done. It has slipped once or twice goign into second but that was like months ago. Changed the water pump , muffler, timing belt of course, new thermostat, brakes. Need new struts bad. Antenna still goes up and down thank God. Need new head light housing becuase housing is all black in side and I dont get a true beam pattern. Thats about it, engine still runs great nothing major. Everything electrically is still going good. Only prob is the trunk release button broke off. I wish there was some way I could get the key pads workign fully again though. it only locks the doors.
