oooo Motor...need advice on valve clearance issue
Picked up the motor finally and is in the Max already but was too tired so we stopped. Will finish tmorrow nite or weds...hopefully
A potential problem tho, if someone wants to give advice.... measured valve clearances and all was good except Exhaust cam on #4 cylinder. clearance was at .015in. Spec is at .013-.015. So im at the Max already. Should i get the shim to bring it
closer? or leave it? keep in mind it would be special order and i would have to go buy the
special tools to remove shims.
thaniks

In my experiance adjusting valves, a little on the lose side is much better then a little on the tight side. ESPECIALLY with the exaust valves, they get hotter then the intake.
Does your 95 have the bucket and shim setup? If so, chances are if you go to the next size shim, your going to be running tight. And thats not good.
