Ahhhhhh....new tires....

Its nice to have brand new tires all the way around, makes the car feel new again.

I wanted Michelin XGT V4's, but they wanted over $700 for a set!!!

I ended up going with Good Year Eagle RS-A's, since I get a major discount on them. I have noticed that now the car pulls stronger all the way to redline, due to having the diameter back to normal. The old worn out, nearly bald, tires made the car feel like the gearing was shorter, causing the powerband to end a bit shy of redline.

I noticed this with my Prelude when my tires would get worn down. My m.p.h. would drop by up to 2 m.p.h. in the quarter mile.

Makes me wonder what I could run now?

I paid $54 for each tire, not bad!!!

I wish we got the same break for Michelins!!

Its nice to have the sharp handling back too.

The car would pull harder if the gearing was shorter. New tires are definatly nice!

You like those RS-A's ???? They came as OE on my 99 SE-L. They were great brand new, excellent all weather traction but as they wore down a bit they got hard, noisey and washed out in the corners. Produced lots of understeer. I got rid of them after 30K and went with Dunlops. The road noise went away totally and the car sticks like glue now.

I haven't had any problems with them on our Police cars, other than they wear fast. But at this price its hard to pass up.

I get a discount because they are on a State contract, and Good Year will sell them to us at the same rate for our personal cars.

I would have preferred the Michelins, but the price!!

Get some Bridgestone Potenza S-03 Pole Position tires for your max. They're pricey, but they are very highly rated.

New Tires

Good price on the RSA's. I found them at the Tire Rack for $102. Can't say I'm a big fan of them though as I switched over to Dunlop SP Sport 5000's (had to go to 225's)for about the same price ($108). But again, nice price on the RSA's.

eagle RSA? I think thats what I have stock, if they're the same, they really suck after 30000km! I get no grip at all in rain and hard low speed cornering sucks, understeer like a ****.

All tires get hard and noisy when they wear down. The manufacturers design tires with harder compounds further down in the tread to increase the life of the tire. The harder compound means more noise, less grip, and a harsher ride. I've experienced this with Yokohamas, Dunlops, Bridgestones, and Toyos.
