Has anyone else had a problem with SilverStars???

Just wondering. I am on my second set in a year. My girlfriends car has done 3 pairs in a year. I keep getting them replaced for free-so thats why I still use them. But don't you think a $40 set of headlight bulbs should last a bit longer than 6 months??? Anyone has some suggestions on a different/better brand? Help, as I hate replacing these darn things!!!
