I have the flip key for the 4th gen that paradox carried for a little while. Its a nice key and looks cool but I was not able to get the keyless to work with it... so the key just sits in my room cuz its too bulky to use daily with a key fob on the ring as well.

That sucks you shoulda got a refund.

It was years ago when I bought it and they were offering them. I believe imported from another country for the Cefiro. I was aware at the time that it may not work with the programming but figured it was worth a shot any way. I'm sure I could have got a refund but in my excitement I had the key cut before I messed with the programming.

My friend had one of these keys for his BMW until the key snapped off and got stuck in his ignition. Ever since I've been very skeptical about these although they look very neat.
Im sure these will work for 4th gen no problem. I don't understand why it wouldn't. Just not too sure about the programing part.

I bought that same key off eBay, took it to the stealership today to get cut and the transponder programmed. Cost me $46 and it seems to work fine. Only complaint so far is that for some reason the word "Panic" on the keyfob is misspelled "Pabic". Bad English to Engrish translation I guess.

I never cut the key because the remote part didn't work. I was just about to return it to Paradox minus a restocking fee when another .org member offered to pay me full price. He only wanted it as a key.
It looked cool anyway!

Thats weird, maybe it only works well for 5th gens or something. I programmed the keyfob part myself with the instructions that came with it and it worked perfect, in fact I would say it has much better range and reliability than my factory fob.
It still feels kinda awkward and unnatural to start the car with the key, I guess I am just used to the traditional key form factor.
Also, if you are thining about getting one of these made, I would call around to your local Nissan dealers to make sure they have a laser cutter, mine didn't so they just copied the key I had already had, this could obviously be a problem if your original key is very worn down.
