Adding definition to that popcharger sound.

I've had my popcharger on for quite some time now. I REALLY love the way the Maxima engine sounds, especially with this. It really does a nice job of giving deep definition to the 190HP V-6 VQ. My question is, what can I add to make this sound more defined and noticable. My entire exhaust system is stock. I don't want a deep drone, that ruins the beauty of the engine. What particular mods/brands do you guys recommend to add flava to my charger ?

The only variable, to intake sound would be the cai as opposed to a pop charger.

get a ypipe! the pipe not only adds enough power to take a whole tenth off your time, better mileage, but the responsiveness is dramatically improved! this means the engine likes to rev even more! sound is slightly more throaty at idle, but is nearly silent. it's too silent for me. i'm gonna get my exhaust soon i hope! i know for a fact the greddy sounds really sweet (almost like BMW tunes haha)! i hope greddy get's their act together soon

If you want to amplify the intake sound, get a long METAL tube and that will be a very big amplifier for the intake sound.

Yea, yea. I know. The only thing I hate is that all these bolt on exhaust products do nothing if not harm low-end power. I love my torque.

Screw it. You'll still feel more if not the same.

I had a split-second of Glee and happiness, then I found out you were being sarcastic.

You can purchase a Place Racing "Upper Intake Tube"....its the tube from the TB to the MAF...it replaces the stock resonator......I got mine from Cattman for $100.....it made the intake sound MUCH deeper that the sound with only a popcharger...

that's completely rediculous....you don't lose ANY low end torque with the addition of a y-pipe...take a look at a dyno of a max b4 and after a y-pipe and you'll see what I mean. And what would make you think that a y-pipe doesn't have any gain???? it's only the most coveted of all maxima bolt on's.....

Only a 1/10 off your time with a aftermarket Y-pipe? Is that from 0-30? In the 1/4 mile it will take off a lot more than 1/10!

true, my best 1/4 time is 14.40 and that was backing off the throttle on a bracket run. i guess its more accurate to say, my worst times (14.7s) are a whole tenth better than without the ypipe on a good run! i think my previous best with ONLY a cone filter was 14.6. so the engine is definately making dramatic gains with the ypipe.
