Chromed Side Lights

Hello, I was wondering what do you guys think about painting the amber side lights and turn signals chrome. I was messing around testing the idea on some old lamps and the light shined through relatively fine and the look was really unique...for some lamps. But I wanted to get some of your input before I start.

If you guys think its a good idea, I'll do it this weekend and post pictures!!!!

hhmmm.... you guys have quite a point. But at the same time I think it might look good, but I can't imagine it without actually seeing it.... perhaps someone should photoshop it?

Yeah me too, I think it'll blend in with a car that is white, but stand out on cars with darker colors.

I think I'll try it out on some taped over lights just to get a test look. I got the idea from a Mercedes that was totally chromed out, even the windshields.... and I saw the head lights and brake lights and I thought........ that doesn't look half bad!!!

Yeah exactly! Nice work, but it would be a little more shiny. Or at least I hope so.

Haha if you say so

But I am just going to get a test look, I am going to cover my lights in tape and then paint them with a light non-wasteful coat. And then post it on here just to get some feedback. Just to hopefully inspire some new ideas. Or I could paint it black... or white

Well, honestly I wanted clears in the first place, but I don't have too much money to spend since I am going to buy a ionic body kit, so I decided to try something new haha

$5.50 for a can of chrome paint
$60.00 for a set of clears

Not too big a difference, but with my income as a student I can't be too free with my money

Ohoho, haha
I don't go on Ebay I got to the manufacture websites like Spyder and all that.... I am afraid I would get ripped off on Ebay

Sorry I have paranoia issues, I mean if I could go to a store and see it in person and pay for it, then it'll be better.....

Don't be afraid of eBay. I got mine off there and so does everyone else. That Spyder crap is just a rip off. Its the same exact product, just twice as much (as you can tell).

I saw it on a Ford Fusion, and it looks great! Matches the car a lot. But they person paint their clears and they left like a small oval in the middle right where the bulb is to shine and that is where I got the idea. haha

And I am doing it this weekend, and don't assume something is going to look bad unless you actually see it hahah

if you are doing it I would buy clears and then paint those if anything. And afraid of ebay? Ebay companies have thousands of feedbacks and ratings...mystery websites have none and jack up the price for the same items. The reason ebay is cheaper is cause they are competing with the 10 other companies that show up in the same search.

Yeah bro I know ebay is the way............. but............ I don't have backup money to spend if something were to happen, if I am going to spend money on something it HAS to come. And also I am saving for a ionic kit, so I am practically out of money. Only have enough for cheap and lazy mods hahahaha
