New Max, or 370Z?

I am contemplating purchasing a new vehicle soon, my maxima has seen it's days.

Should I A: Get a New 2008/9 Maxima
or
B: Get a 370Z

Well 1st things 1st, partout your 4th gen. And hm depends on what your needs are. If you need a family sedan, get the new Max. If not, go for the 370Z. Thats just my 2 cents.

ditto, if you need a 4 door for lugging stuff or people, go with a maxima. if you usually drive alone and dont need much room, 350z

Skyline GT R....wait, that wasn't one of the choices was it? 370Z if you're single, Max otherwise.

3.0? I am guessing something else was intended there....maybe the 5.0 thats in the fx 50, just saw one of these monsters on the road, amazing.

But aside from that I would go 370z if it was just for me in warmer weather conditions where snow is not a factor. Otherwise Max for sure.

I wouldn't get a 7th gen Max, people like crashing into them buy the look of the 7gen section.

I just don't like the fact that the 7th gen Maxima doesn't have a manual trans option. I'd steer towards the Infiniti G.

Bloated, overweight, FWD, CVT sedan vs. sporty, stylish, 6MT coupe.

You haven't even chosen a category yet. Personally, I would consider the best (and worst - weight) of both worlds and get a G37S Coupe.

it's two different cars. like everyone said, if you have family, i'd get max, if not, 370z. i didn't like 370z from just looking at the pics, but after i saw it at the auto show, i loved it.

i thought i was gonna start family when i bought my max, but it didn't happen so i regret that i didn't buy 350z at that time. hey but i still love my max tho

He was talking about the 3.0 diesel engine they're putting into the Maxima.

if you want a 4-door sedan, there are better cars for the money than the new max (IMO). And no MT option was a deal-killer for me.

if you want a 2-door sportscar, the 370 is a nice choice though wouldn't necessarily be my first.

sems like a wierd comparison. Like saying "hey guys should I get a Toyota Tacoma, or should I get a Toyota Tercel? What do you need in a car?

I'd say split the difference in car type and for similar money get a 328i or STi or Evo or R32 or whatever....all of which are as fast/faster than the maxima and handle better, but are all more practical than the Z...

I suggest to decide which one serves your means. And then lease for a year, that way your not stuck with a vehicle you really didn't want in the first place.I wish i would've opted to lease.Technology with vehicles nowadays changes like baby diapers.

Oh, ok. I had heard about the diesel but didn't take much note of the fact it was a 3.0. Not something that interests me in the least either. Plus I think I was really excited at seeing that FX50.

I would say get the G37 as a "compromise"

VQ 3.7
nice price (less than a Z and about the same as a new Max)
rear wheel drive
FAST
has 4 doors when you need it
Not as big as Max

What more could you want?

If it was me, I would choose the 370Z, but then again it still depends on you. If you are a family man and needs that extra space, I believe the Maxima is a better option.

I agree. Friend of mine has a G37 sedan, and its definitely faster than my 07 max. I would say go with that. its is the "compromise"

i just test drove 370z and i personally did not like it. shift was not smooth and road nosie was worse than 350z. i like the looks but it didn't feel fast. i would buy G37 coupe over 370z. but if you are looking to buy 4 door, then i'd buy max

not one of you have mentioned the fact that you can get an OLDER car for alot less, so get a 350z and a 5th gen max for the same amount of $$$$
you get the best of both worlds: fun sports car, and a more practical daily driver.

Just to add a few more choices to the mix, Nissan Sport has details on two new 370models here:

http://www.nissansportmag.com/newveh...oroadster.html

Both the 370Z convertible and NISMO 370Z will be highlighted at the 2009 New York Auto Show this weekend.

they made the new max too luxurious which, personally, i dont like. If you're going for looks and comfort then buy the maxima. If you're going for performance then buy the 370z....if you want to meet in the middle then buy an 08 3.5L Altima SE coupe

well he did ask for an honest opinion not biased

do you have a different car to drive if it snows or rains or what have you? cause your gunna crash that thing driving in all the seasons. so then I would say max but if your gunna keep the other max then get the Z

OR you can get the best nissan ever......the Q45 I love that thing. it has reclining rear seats and a monster engine.
