how to polish parts?

Does anyone know how to polish parts like valve covers etc? I will either buy them frm tony, or do it myslef. I am just not sure how hard, or long of a process it is and what is involved. Thanks,

Mike

I've done it on a buffing wheel... kinda like a grinding wheel with a few kinds of wheels (sandpaper type, cloth type) and compounds. I've polished boat propellers, a few belt buckles, that kind of stuff.

im the polishing king/***** here on the ORG....

i say get yourself some 600/800/1000/1500/2000 gritt wet sand papers and start sanding, then buy some mother mag/aluminum polish and buff the $hit out of your valve cover. It will look just as good as any one that you can buy for $300 and it will cost you $20 in materials and about 2 weekends worth of work.

Ask 1HOTMAX, im his insperation for polishing, or anyone from NY that has seen my engine bay and ask them what it looks like

lates,
Anthony

Any metal can be polished. Aluminum, steel, gold, silver, platium..etc. Softer metal are easier to polish.
