Went to the local acurat dealer to pick up a clutch cable for my CRX... I am looking around... peaking in the the window on the door to the parts rooms. What do I see on the topshelf? Mobile 1 sythetic oil, in large quantity. This leads me to believe that they use that stuff in their oil changes...

So what's this about nissan not honoring warranties if you use synthetics?

So is that for the regular oil changes, or the "gold" oil change? Some dealers I have been to give you the option of a synthetic change for more $$.

Nissan seems like they are just trying to KTA on the warranty thing.

Hmmm...and at a Honda dealer....

that is quite interesting.

But of course Nissan will think it's your fault for so much as touching your motor! I mean, after all, people are stupid and shouldn't dare do anything to their cars and let the dealer handle everything.

WTF does Nissan care that you use BETTER oil than what comes in the Max? But, on the other hand, I've never seen NISSAN 5W-30 oil on the shelves anywhere so who knows...

Oh, *expletive*, I read the post wrong....

Yeah, the Acura dealer will have that stuff for the NSX's and *probably* their other cars. I think Mobile 1 is standard on the NSX's from the get-go....

Hmm very possible... I am thinking maybe they put it in the 3.2CL and the RLs as well? who knows... but I find it funny that for a FACT synthetics is better over all than tradition dino juice, yet Nissan, well dealerships, wants to void your warranty for using it. crazy...
