What to buy next? 5k limit

well guys im looking for something else since i'm selling my G35 and going back to school in Sept.
It has to be around max 4k, i really want something RWD but i wouldnt mind a max.
im so use to my 306hp VQ35HR G35, the maxima only has 190hp or around 160whp, theres about 100+hp i need to add to the maxima. help me decide lol
Here are my choices:
99 Maxima SE-L 5spd 134k miles $3200+ (no supercharger till Dec 09)
or
97 maxima gxe 5spd 140k $2200+(supercharger max 2gs)

It has to be reliable too, since ill be in school for 3 yrs.
***I've decided a 4th gen maxima is what im gonna get***

Get another '95-'99 5spd Max with low miles. You know it'll be reliable.

Only thing I can think of is how horrible on gas those would be, especially an automatic. My maxima isn't to great on gas, I can't imagine adding another 1.5 liters, but if you can afford it during school then by all means.

good point i was thinking the samething, since my G35 sedan has the HR motor i get around 18.5-19.5 city and hwy around 24mpg. i think maybe a maxima is my best bet or maybe a 240, but i really want rwd lol

stick with the max, low on maintainence and enough power is available from a stock 3.0 AND for any of your mechanical questions you have the classifieds to help you answer any of them. Maxima wins!!

I have a bone to pick with you about a power steering surprise I was left with...

Anywho I say maxima, and since you're familiar with the Houston area... http://houston.craigslist.org/cto/1232305779.html

I tried to sell my mom on that one, she's just not interested in manuals anymore.

you know, I was in the same boat just last week. I was looking for something similar with about the price mark you have. I looked at a bunch of 240s, 300zxs and all but all were just beat up and not very well taken care of. Just buy a well taken care of low mileage 4gen maxima. Thats what I did. Found a 96 5spd for the right price. My 3RD 4thgen! haha

When I got the car jacked up to check the CV Joint (It's fine btw), I saw that there was power steering fluid and oil on the bottom of the car, the surprise was that the power steering fluid was leaking onto a bushing and well we all know oil + rubber = fail, so I got that fixed, and the oil leak is coming from the rear valve, but it's a VQ, I accepted the fact that oil was going to be leaking from somewhere. Besides that and the AC the car is in tip-top shape, oh btw I'll be in Austin in a few weeks, to track down Kenneth, just a fyi if you wanted to see the car again...
