TurboMax is alive!

man its finally alive once again.
really want to thank all the guys that stayed the long nights to help me finish the project. Also big thanks to members that offered advice and opinions about things.
i have yet to boost over 8psi but im alreayd having traction probs. If i launch lightly at 2000rpm the tires break loose and the car drifts to the right a bit...dunno. we'll see
Whats left is an oil leak, exhaust leak, tuning the engine, and breaking it in. Small beans to me.

Once again thanks alot!

haha i know Cheston...hopefully that "longer" is ALOT LONGER. Yea it will be sad for the car to be running then on jackstands. for some members they've never seen the Max off jackstands!

Weasel, i got the Nissan VLSD trans...its still pretty bad tho.

All you need to stop that traction problem are some really sticky and wide tires. The hard work has paid off.

I had NOTHING to do with your motor working but..

I just wanted to say congrats. And I did nothing to assist you, because every questioin you had was so far outta my scope that I would sit here and shudder in the mere thought of it.

I am truly happy to know it is working out though.

i'm sure that traction problem will be fixed when you put
those other tires on the car, the ones on your car
are balder than a 99 year old man dood.

trust me his car is scary fast, with him shifting at
about 4k and me shifting at redline, he pulls away
the entire time... wanna race matt?

im suprised it started right up and ran so well
tho... o well i'm glad its done, now we can finally
clean your garage dood

Congrats TurboMax!!!

I've been reading all your posts about all the trouble you've been going through and and the hard work you've put in. I wish you all the luck wiht your new monster, you deserve it. Now my suggestion to you is to submit a nice "how-to" write up to be used as a resource on Maxima.org. I know it would probably be more like a book than a write-up but this would be written proof of a successful adaptation of a turbo for a Maxima. Very cool! I'd also take the car to some shows and see if you can't hunt down a sponsor. I'm sure there are aftermarket companies who'd like to put their name on a very rare modified Nissan Maxima. For all the hard work you put in you may as well bask in a little glory.

Anyway just my .02!

Whoa! A turbo Max? It's hard to believe with all these negative comments about squeezing a turbo in our engine bays... I guess it really can be done!
Congrats on the completed project!!!

A big turbo VG30 in an 89 chasis is in the midst!!
It will be built for the blower, and running 15 psi to start. I like that it's pre-90's. Sort of the 4DSC that started a huge trend. It will be a sleeper. No fin, skirts or any BS. Just clean, low and faast. GOOD JOB TURBOMAX. Put those Mustangs in their place boy!

Congrats man. I remember that time at the Ocean Beach meet when you were telling me how your engine overheated because the turbo you had at the time displaced one of the cooling fans.

Coming in kinda late, but congrats on the turbo upgrade! Is it inter-cooled, too? That would be the best!
