Pepper Spray/Mace
Sorry for being off the Maxima topic. But I'm sure many of you heard of that Yale student being murdered. This worries me for my loved ones. Anyone have a good recommendation for a strong pepper spray? I live in a pretty rough neighborhood. I know crime can happen anywhere. For my mom (tiny asian woman) walking home late at night, I'd rather her be safe.

Carpool or an escort is the safest way to get her home without worry. But nowadays people are bold and brasin,sometimes mace or paper spray just wont cut it.I'd also say have her file for a permit to carry then she can keep a small .22 in her purse and a shot gun next to the door,nothing scares the crap out of a would be theif like hearing a shotgun cocking back. though it is a little extreme but extreme is the measures you gotta take sometimes. People who pray on the innocent and elderly need their brains blown anyway. I hate to sound that way but it is what it is.. chrome that would been hilarious to see,a little a lil old pullin out a desert eagle,with funny one liner

Actually I think trying to get her a ride home, like suggested above is the safest way.
I mean if you are up against some armed robber and you spray him with pepper spray he'll probably start shooting at you, and if you pull out a gun then he will STILL shoot at you. Unless you get a tazer and turn it up full blast to knock him out or stop his heart then your set, but then his buddies might start shooting at you when they see him on the ground.
