Dealership damaged my car! Argh!!!

Well. Wanted to get a bump plug checked out as I kept on hearing a squeeling noise when I have my steering wheel turned all the way left or right. Lo and behold, I get a call from the Service manager and when I get to the dealership, this is what I was introduced too.

Nobody was hurt at the dealership and I suspect the tech who was working on my car or perhaps the lot attendent gave way to much gas upon reversing out of their repair bay. Ugh...Just before the Thanksgiving long weekend. At least I got a loaner from them. I guess the Service Manager is going to keep my posted on its repair.

Since we all like to view this kind of stuff, I thought I post the pics above.
She has now officially been in her first accident

Wow. That's pretty bad. Sucks to see such damage on what appears to be an I35 in excellent condition.

On a side note, your I35 is not a table for Starbucks cups.

And, where do you live where Thanksgiving is around the corner?

Too funny. You are so right. As you can see the tissue beside it, it was full of my tears...

I live up in Alberta so I think us Canadians have it a month earlier then our fellow brother/sisters down south.

Return the loaner damaged in the same fashion as yours. Then say, "We're even now"

I know of a couple of mud/gravel roads we can test the "SUV" part of the rogue, see if they are full of ****, or if it is actually (remotely) capable of being an off road vehicle.

Think with your dipstick, jimmy!

I think I might just travel down to your dealership and whip the guy who "gassed too hard" with my dipstick.

You should tell them to fix it and give you an extra $1000 credit since it decreases your resale value

You should have filed a claim with their insurer instead. Let me guess, it was their idea to fix it for you?

$1000 is too much IMO, but definitely try to get something back since it does decrease your resale value because this repair might probably go on carfax.

Already thought about that but since I already know of a body shop where I live that comes highly recommended, I told the service manager to take my car there. He even mentioned the same body shop before I even asked him about it.

For sure, if this dealership had their own body shop, that would have raised red flags for me as they would have cut corners or something.

Good thinking people. My co-workers have mentioned the same thing to me. I will see what happens when I get more updates on the return of my car.

Since the dealer was at fault, I doubt it will go on carfax. It was just a fender bender, as long as it is painted well without too much mud, it wont hurt the resale value.

What

I've heard some horror stories from others who have taken their vehicles to the Dealer for repairs.
A guy with whom I work took his Benz for some warranty repairs at the Dealer. Upon picking up his vehicle, he noticed a bunch of hard water spots over the pristine sky blue paintjob. Turns out they ran his car through the car wash and did not towel dry it.

Yah. There was no point getting upset and I was totally cool. Actually, I felt more sorry for the tech/attendent who damaged my car as he/she probably got an earful from the owner/manager.

If my car was newer, it probably would have been a different story. The only thing I am concerned about is the paint job and whether the body shop could match the rest of the car. I guess I'll find out in the next few weeks.
