wheel/tire question

On my 01 Max SE, can I run a 16" wheel with 215-60-16 winter tires? IF they will fit, they are significantly cheaper than the 'recommended' size of 215-55-16. TIA.

OK, I did some calculations: the 60 series 16" tire is 7.5mm taller than the stock 17" setup. How can I figure out if that will fit? Anyone?

225/50/17 vs 215/60/16 results in a difference of about 1.16%.... speedo will be off by 1 mph at 55 mph.... that should work ok still

I'm not too concerned about that...want to make sure they will physically fit without any rubbing...
