Remember these wise words... fighting over the internet is like the retard olympics, you might win, but you are still retarted.

wow look at this thread, i used to love this forum, so many good guys with good info, no matter if it was repeated, just guys sharing info. i havent been on here in months due to people that take good threads and trash them, maybe the moderators should look carefully at this, because the more people that stop using it, the more likely it will go away.

back to the topic!!!

thx for the words of wisdom, craig. maybe the others will realize this and understand that just ignoring frivolous things is the better, more mature route.

gotta agree though, its good that people participate in these threads because it keeps members posting IMO repeating a topic is less of a waste of space than the wh0re threads in the region section where everyone gets 90% of their postcount. anyway, gonna

It is people like you............

THAT MAKES MAXIMA.ORG A GREAT FORUM TO BE A PART OF!

I mean sometimes... actually no, a LOT of times people set poor examples to other members and the general attitude is "I don't care who you are or what you think" its like this forum is just another place where "they" come and make fun of each other and new members to get a few laughs. If you read any thread that was made more than 3 or 4 years ago the attitude was the complete opposite. Back then it was actually a place where enthusiasts got together to teach and learn.

This doesn't have much to do with the topic of this thread...but I just wanted to say that my '02 only has 73,000 miles and it really makes me feel good to hear about a lot of people getting well over 100k miles. Oh by the way, have not had any problems with my car...it still drives great.

I thought it would be useful to say if you guys with high mileage are still on the original engines and trannies. I mean, It wouldnt be that much of a big deal if you have 250k miles but went through 5 engines and 5 trannies.

my 420,000km 3rd gen is on the original VG30E and tranny. nice broken-in mileage.

a while ago when i went to a garage to see if my tranny mounts were bad, and the guy said my tranny was near toast. i asked how and i said because i had it in power mode it shifts in higher RPM but he said its bad (and they said they checked my shifter system and all was fine when my shifter bushing WAS gone and was causing my Max to not start). so i went home nearly in tears, posted a few ads and JSMax on here was nice enough to find a friend of his who would swap trannies but i took my Max to a tranny place by me that actually knows stuff and he took it for a ride and said shes fine, first shifts slightly hard but he said its fine and will last a good time still.

guy was nice, said no more power mode, just use comfort, and charged nothing for his time and taking the car for a drive. i will always be thankful to that guy at that time i was blowing my paychecks as soon as i got them but that incident straightened me up and i'm saving over half of my paychecks so incase something ever does happen i'm prepared

167k, still on original drivetrain. Runs like a dream, too. No burning oil or tranny slips.

I shouldn't have said that. Now my car will self-destruct.
