Power issues

I've got a 93 maxima SE. Sometimes when it's pretty cold outside, the car tends to keep the radio and other electrical systems active even after I've turned off the car and removed the key from the ignition. I've tried to turn the car on and off a few times, but that never works.

Usuaully, if I just keep the radio going for a few minutes, the car will slowly cut the power (almost seems like a capacitor discharging since the dash display gets dimmer until the power if all off).

Right now, this is just annoying, but I'm going to get real ****ed if the car drains my battery. Anyone have any thoughts as to what this can be?

Hmm just a guess but could it be the alternator running continuously long for some reason?

Go to Autozone and they will check it for free.

Try to identify exactly which circuits are still energized. Are they the circuits that are on when the key is in the "Acc" position or the "on" position? You may have sticking contacts in the ignition switch or an intermitent short.
