Flush to go syn?

If i want to go to synthetic in my auto, do i need to flush it all the way? The reason i ask is that i recently got it flushed but just used the regular mobil atf. However, i do a drain and fill about once a year and was just wondering if this would be stupid?
Since you just changed ATF >>>
you could wait awhile...
I would get a complete flush when you change to full synthetic... then partial changes in normal intervals with same synthetic may work thereafter.

I just did my drain and fill. Don told me I could do 3 drain and fills and it should change all my fluid to synthetic. So thats what I'm going to do. I'm 1/3 there. I'm gonna wait till next week and do it again. Then one more time after that.

Riddle from 5th grade way back...
If you are 10ft from a wall, and move half the distance to the wall every 5 seconds... how long will it take you to get to the wall?
I think that a drain will take out less than 1/2 of the tranny oil each time and it mixes with the old stuff... I guess it would eventually be 'virtually' 100% synthetic after about 5-6 changes...

5 or 6? I'm doing it 3 times.. Thats it! =P Its a real hassle. It drains really slow too.. Unlike the oil. I ran out of ATF and had to go to the store and get more. That means I had to drive the car there. Really sucked. It scarfed down like 5 quarts and a little bit more. I only bought 4 initially.
