Proper cloth

I like to use one of the round microfiber wax applicators, and a good quality microfiber cloth, one reason is the are tough and reusable, just make sure when you wash or launder the cloth wash them in cold water and dry them on fluff air and do not use any fabric softener.

Didn't reply last night but checked and it is a microfiber wax applicator from WAL MART and use the microfiber rags to take off.....so the same as the guy I quoted...

I guess it depends on everyone. I use a microfiber applicator, then a microfiber to wipe off. Basically i use microfiber for everything. Make sure you wash them at least once a month. No point using dirty cloths on a clean car

I use a foam applicator from 3M to apply the wax, then 100% cotton to remove. Wash after every use. Cotton will pick up contaminents from everything. If you are using cotton and see swirling, its most likely from the contaminants.

microfiber

Ive personally always used a foam cone attached to my power drill to apply wax and have always used a microfiber cloth for the polish and my paint has held up over the years very well indeed

link broke son. but honestly, all of my MF rags come from walmart. They were selling their stock of 12 packs of MF rags a while back for $1 a pack, I bought nearly $50 of their stock.
