I saw this other thread mentioning the gender naming of our cars. Some were saying you should be man enough to call your Maxima a girl. I always thought of my Maxima as a guy, like a best beer buddy. My maxima, he is badass Some other vehicles I attach gender to:

Lexus RX300 = Female
Lexus LS 470 = Big brawny Male
Most Mercedes Benzes = Male
Chevy Impala SS = NFL player
Mecredes CLK convertible = Female
All BMWs, even the convertibles = Male
Toyota Camry = One of those people you can't tell what gender they are, like that person on Saturday night live.
Toyota Highlander = female
Ford SHO = male
ANY minivan = Female
ANY truck = Male

What's everyone else think?

My girl calls my 97SE (Ethyl) and my 02SE (Chucky), so in her eyes they are brother and sister!

 

I don't name my car.

But, I have always thought that if you have a stick your car is a male and if it's an automagic it's a female.

Same could be said if your car makes a lot of noise -- it's probably a female...

 

Mine's actually a cat, but not neutered.

Why is the RX300 female? I just don't see that one. You contradict it also when you say all trucks=male...It's more truck then anything else.

I'd have to say that because I rub my hands across my car the way I do, I'd have to call it a girl, just to keep myself straight. My girlfriend gets jealous when I pet the dashboard after a good race, I just tell her it's like petting my dog...but I know the truth. My maxima is a girl, and I love her.

 

Actually the word Maxima is genderless. It is derived from the Latin neuter plural of "maximum", hence "maxima". So I guess that means people are free to assign any gender to their car that they want. To me, it is just a car. I maintain it, and it gets me from A to B. There are more important things in life than your car.

As for the dude who thinks his Maxima is his second wife, well more power to ya. I just hope you don't end up with just the car in the end. Enjoy the ride...err...not that way!!!

RX300=expensive station wagon. Station wagons are for mommies to go grocery shopping and take the kids to soccer practice. Definitely female.

My lovely little Maxine is too damn sexy to be male. Yet still mean and powerful, maybe used to be a guy... a transsexual... hmmm...

 

Unless your SC'd, you would get smoked by the 540i wagon, modded 850R Volvo wagon or a modded WRX Impreza wagon. I guess you never saw AMG's superwagon based on a E420 wagon.

Whoa Jeff, I never said "all station wagons are slow". I'm sure a WRX wagon would take me stock, but that doesn't change the fact that it's a girl car. A fast wagon is still a wagon.

If the choices were 2k2 6-sp maxima vs 2002 540i wagon w/ manual and sport suspension, I would choose the BMW in on second. You could make fun of me all you want, but you would be doing it from behind.

I think wagons are the next thing. You will see some modded is300 wagons soon. they are kinda ugly though!

I believe all cars are girls. You have to spend money on her to make her happy...
You also have to stick it into her gas tank and fill her up in order for her to go...
