What a waste of a BMW.

Well, if 5-series had more than 41.7 inches of front leg room then I would consider a 5/6-speed. Manual is not very comfortable for a 6'6" guy like me.

It's always a matter of opinion, but in my book stick is fun and I don't want an automatic. I drive my mom's car once in a while and it's an auto and I don't like it. I do like that Acura though. The way that interior looks with the navigation is sweet. Mad props for Honda.

6'3.5" here, I have no problems.

Just admit you are to lazy to drive a stick.

I have long legs. I test drove manual 5-series and was very uncomfortable in it.

Yes, it takes me one freaking hour to get to work every morning instead of 15 min w/o heavy traffic.

Actually that's right. BMW's have limited leg room in front, and maybe it's just me, or the pedals seems kind of small too compared with other cars. I'm 6'2" so I know what you mean by difficulty driving stick when your leg is all cramped up in the corner and knee hitting the steering wheel like that.

That's exactly how I feel. I sat in 6-speed Max and it had much more space than 5-series.

If you literally grew a third foot, you could accelerate from a stop car on hills in San Francisco without using the handbrake or rolling back into that car that stopped 1" behind you.

Heck. For along time it took me over an hour to get to school, in heavy traffic. mostly uphill.

This was way back when I first got my Max. Whilst getting down how to drive a stick.

Did I ever wish I had an auto?

Not once.

Good for you. Living in Boston I would never get a 5speed as a daily driver.

Hey Pete. I heard 540s don't handle as well as 6 cylinder 5 series. Well, I still have 3-4 months to make a decision.

How's your Max, did you replace that blown tranny?

This is one of the major payoff's of being a short 5'6" asian male. I can honestly say, I've never been in a car that was too small as far as driving positions.

The 6 spd CL Type S should be a sweet ride. I have a TL and it's as much fun as the I-30, even more since I added a CAI on the TL. Now you really hear the VTEC kick in. Lookin for a new ride and the EVO VII isn't coming for another year....
