I'm going to be building a custom box or panel that will go inside of my arm rest to contain all the controls for my soon to be installed NOS system.

What materials would you guys use for this? My first thought was just plywood covered in a grey carpeting similar to what's in the botton of the armrest already.

Any suggestions? I've never really done any custom interior work before.
