Installing front lip, QUICK question....

Do I need the tape or will the bolts be fine ? Tape shouldn't matter if the lip is bolted. Right ?

I am planning on screwing through the front lip into the fender This baby should be tight...

Will I be safe without the 3M tape ? Also there are like 7 screws under my bumper, I plan on usin' most of those if possible.

Hey guys does home depot have this 3M tape that'll hold this lip !? I need to know b4 they close !

Did you end up painting it yourself? How did it turn out? I wuould use as much tape and bolts as I can cuz you don't want that thing falling off...

You still need the tape near the radiator... even with pop rivets in the fender well.

I started my sanding the lip. I then applied primer. Then I painted it myself with that import plasti-cote and some great painters touch black gloss...4 coats. Then 2 coats of clear coat. Looks good!

I'm glad you think it looks good, I'm sure it does. But from the conversations about paint and install, you not the "have all the ducks lined up before you shoot" kinda guy. lol

I'd say that Home Depot HAS the 3M Tape. Give them a call.

my lip isn't painted yet but its on my car held by 3 bolts, the ones in the fender whells and one straight through the center in the middle of my bumper. Had it on for the past 3 weeks, still tight as hell. & for the past 2 days i have been snowplowing with it

Kiliatown, yup they had it, I got it. It's decently strong, but with the bolts it will due!

Jeff92se, I'm callin' you out boy.

I considered what you "know" about paint and this is what i'm gonna do. I have superfine grit sandpaper. I'm gonna do what they call "wet sanding". Im gonna sand down the spray imperfections, paint it again. Then sand it down AGAIN, and spray it again. Then give it anothe clear coat. Then it will be SMOOTH as a baby's @ss, and should match the car's paint almost flawlessly.

What do ya think about that?

3M tape at HOME DEPOT

Get the heavy duty double sided 3M tape is the one that is grey in the middle and then get a bigger washer in Diameter to secure the lip on the fender well. If not just drill a Tiny hole and it will get bigger, when you screw a bigger hole.

Cool! Your ride seems to be coming along quite nicely. I can't wait to see pics. I'm coming to Florida next year (Disney), I'll have to swing by.
