come on guys all he wants is good sound. It's not like "good sound" can be that hard to find? Such a specific value, there..."good". Isn't it obvious to everyone?

I think he should go straight pipes all around

Pfftt...just remove all exhaust after the headers. You don't need that junk anyways....

Im disappointed it has taken this long for someone to recommend a twin loop set-up especially with the grammar used.

man you guys are pretty hard on my grammar its kinda im sorry kind of funy i mean funny and should i capatalize my I's.... like that. wait a minute i didnt have any comas in that last run on sentence. any way to whom it may concern, i dont have single tip duals so do your homework so u dont sound as dumb as my grammar. Now back to business. there are no emmisions test where im at so if i ran str8 pipes, remove resonator if it had one, would that work with the sound. Also would it throw codes. English majors feel free to answer.

In my situation, I have a 4th gen, obviously it's a 3.0, but probably will sound very similar. When my resonator broke off at the rear flange, I had to get a quick fix at a muffler shop. They bent and welded straight pipes from the cat back. My muffler was severely rusted out so I had the guy cut it off too. So my setup was a basic straight pipe cat back. It actually sounded aggressive and throaty, but not raspy. I liked it except for the deep loud drone between 2k and 3k rpm's...which gave me a headache. After some research, I bought a 28 inch long straight-thru thrush glass pack muffler from autozone and had the muffler shop weld it in where the resonator was. I installed a 45 degree turn-down tip with a clamp at the end of my pipe because the shop misaligned the pipe. Now it sounds throaty, deep, a little less drone and no rasp whatsoever. I like the sound. People turn heads and stare all the time. I'd like to install a muffler of some sort to kill that drone completely, but I don't know if I will. As it warms up, the drove comes back some but not as loud as without the glass pack resonator.

My opinion, do it. It's inexpensive. I never got any codes from this setup.

the problem was that nobody could tell what exhaust setup your car had from your post. or what you wanted. thats why people made fun of your grammar. cuz nobody knows what the **** youre saying half the time.

don't know what im saying huh, im talking about my 49cc kick start moped with nos and dual exhaust pipes . Come on dude im strictly talking about my maxima. And considering that this is a forum for a maxima enthusiast any one with worse grammar than me would not have to second guess what I'm talking about. and thanks a lot for the ideas I might just take the exhaust off behind the headers. but will that throw codes?

Yep, if you just want a loud exhaust then a straight pipe will give you the sound you are looking for!

And please do NOT take off your exhaust completely.

Lastly, don't worry about your grammar. You might be ESL, or you might have a different educational background. Either way, don't let the mocking get to you.
