Get your 2003 350Z here!!!
The 2003 Nissan 350Z car will be available for pre-order on January 15th. Most sources are saying this will be a very limited production run, much like the Ford Thunderbird.
http://www.nissandriven.com/ms/futur...0,,520,00.html
Ive been a lurker on this site for a while, but I think I've finally come up with a worthwile (slightly off topic) post. On Jan 15th I'll be able to accept an order for a 2003 Z car optioned out EXACTLY how you want it.
Take a good look at the different models and options, then PM or Email me (gt40mki@aol.com) to discuss pricing and availability. As a fellow car enthusiast I promise not to hit you with the $4000-$5000 markups certain big city dealerships are considering.
Base price is just under $27,000, but the kicker for me was the TRACK version with:
-Carbon-fiber driveshaft
-BremboŽ brakes with 4-piston front calipers, 2-piston rear calipers, 12.8" vented front discs and 12.7" vented rear discs
-Aluminum hood
-Xenon 4-bulb high intensity discharge headlights
-18" x 8" 6-spoke super light forged-aluminum alloy wheels by Rays
-P225/45WR18 front & P245/45WR18 rear high performance tires
-Front& Rear spoiler
It takes alot for me to get excited about a car, but this thing looks awesome! Please contact me with any questions!
(P.S.-I can help with you any other Nissan or Mercedes as well
..LoL)

Sheesh, that was harsh....
I was afraid of that...look, check for GT40MkI on corral.net, texasracingscene.com, dfwstangs.net, stangnet.com, gt40s.org, ls1.com, etc...I've been on these and other message boards for the past couple of years. I don't currently own a Maxima, and doubt I had anything to add by my postings here, so I held off on activating an account. I've put my deposit down for a 350z with the Track package. Never did I say BUY a 350z from me...I just wanted to let everyone know that starting on the 15th, they can reserve one of the cars if they're interested. Also, the talk around the Region I work in(New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana) is that Dallas and Houston dealerships are talking as much as $5000 OVER MSRP. Nissan Corporate has a dilemma where they can make a few people VERY happy, and **** everyone else off (ala Fords Thunderbird, see blueovalnews.com for more info...) OR, they can make the Z a Mustang/Camaro and sell 500,000 of them, so in 3 years they aren't worth anything. Which would you do? The Early 90's twin turbo cars sold for a few grand over sticker, and held their value VERY well, partly beacuase of limited production.
Flame if you like, but I'm here if anyone has any LEGIT questions about the vehicles...
Also, if you'd visit nissandriven.com you'd realize that the base model with destination and floormats (I dont know why mats are a $70 option on a $25k+ vehicle..) comes damn close to $27000.
My daily driver is an 88 Mustang GT with a Vortech S-trim@18psi. I've built the whole damn thing from the ground up (except for welding in the cage) and am proud of it. As long as a car is quick/performance oriented it can earn my respect. The Mustang is setup for drag racing and runs low 10's/high 9's in the 1/4 @136+mph.
I want the Z to take the role of daily driver, and hopefully something I can run in SCCA style cone races.Thank you for your time.

Ya i think nissan is in the business of turning a profit and making money.. especially after the renault take over.. therefor they are going to mass produce the car alla mustang/camero... What do they car if the resale is low??? they are looking to make money off the car when they sell it, not the buyer selling it later on.. the reason there were so littler early z's is they cost 45k loaded!! how many other 45k cars do u see around compared to 25k cars...

But at 5k over list I'll pass on the 350Z, once you get near 40k there are so many other choices and the looks factor starts to come into play again. Let big money playas get their Z's first. Maybe in 2004 the rest of us will be 15 more months closer to paying off the mortgage and we'll buy under list price. I could never understand the first on the block camp who are willing to toss 5 grand or more away to be the first. One of my coworkers earns 6 figures and has an old 14" monitor for his computer. Told him a nice 19" Samsung is only $249. Says he can't afford it. House costs half a mil though.
Camaros and Mustangs are Dime a dozen because they are CHEAP!!! The Z is not a cheap car. Anything that stickers around $30k will not sell in large volumes not to mention its only a 2 seater. Nissan has promised the public already that it IS NOT a limited production run. They will build as many as they project to sell.

Outrageous Markups....
I don't like dealers very much but why not sell for 5k over list if they can get it?
In my opinion thats outrageous, there is a fair market value on any vehicle, and I really like Edmunds(tm) TMV (true market value)...I think its one of the most accurate attempts at vehicle value available.
[please disregard this paragraph, everyone but Adam/2000se]
Adam, I wwas reading your comments and decided to take a look at your profile... a 19 year old who's interests include "Money", and owns/works for a Jewelry shop. Oh puhleeeze...if anyone is charging an absurd markup...LoL...also, you list your vehicle as a Sunlit Sand 00 SE with NO modifications. I'm sorry, but any true car enthusiast with a car as common as a 00 SE would be a fool not to at least change out the wheels and tires, add a filter, or SOMETHING to make the car stand out. Especially a 19 year old...whatsa matter, daddy wouldn't let you mod out the new Maxima you got for your 16th Birthday? As for you being the type of customer I hate,
ya i know im the type of consumer a salesman hates.. im informed and know what i want... and have never had a salesman pressure me or talk me into buying somthing i didnt want.
[everyone read]
Ok sorry for muddying up this forum, but I honestly don't see what I've done wrong here. Should I have posted in the wanted/forsale/trade forum instead? Hell, consider this a public service announcement...
again, if anyone wants to discuss the new Z, feel free to email me (gt40mki@aol.com) or call toll free at 800-299-1000
Thanks again

Personally, I'm glad Nissan can even offer a product where people are willing to pay list, instead of crazy 5-7k off list with rebates ie Maximas.

You would be surprised that most people who make six figures are not driving exotic Italian sports cars. They are driving Toyota Camrys and Honda Accords...ordinary cars. You don't get rich by spending all the money you make.
Performance figures?
It is gonna be 260 hp and 260 ft/lbs? Excuse me as I have not read any of the articles. For that price, what cars would be the main competitors? The TT? The S2000 is price higher. What is the weight of this car? A good guess would be mid 5's for 0-60 and low 14's in the quarters?

I dont believe in pressure sales...fortunately I have products that pretty much sell themselves. Unfortunately at 19 years old you dont have enough education to understand economics and would probably be the same kid that offered me $25,000 for a loaded SE 6-speed

We people do other things, we dont sit here and go back to the profile after each mod has been installed and update that crap. Damn, My list would be out my azz if I had to list it.
And did not know changing the filter classified as a mod, unless you newbies Jammed a Honda oil filter on there somehow.

OK OK.....enough already...
Open apology to Adam...I ASSumed since your website link pointed to a jewelry store, and your car description was a sunlit sand 00 SE with nothing else, no pics in the sig, etc...that it was still stock. I guess I was just disappointed that there weren't pics of a bad *** maxima on the other end of the link.
END of ****ing contest, mmmk?
Now, on with the 350z discussion.
Nissan is about to give dealerships their initail allocations for 2002(August through November...Pre-orders should arrive Early-mid august)...numbers should range from about 3-15 depending on dealership size and sales volume. Pre-orders will be filled before ANY Z cars are demo'd and sold on a showroom basis. This is the latest info sent through the dealership lines...
As far as performance, they are predicting low 5's for 0-60 and mid to upper 13's for the 1/4. They're still pushing for 280+ naturally aspirated horsepower and 260 foot pounds of torque. Should be a blast.

Thanks for the info. Since you are a "newbie" you may not have realized that a large portion of the org are younger men. Since the Maxima seems to lose its value quickly it becomes a great value to those seeking a higher performance, quality car at a reasonable price. I've learned that most of the young men are mature, while others are not. The less mature have been booted off... It's also best to just let a thread die once in a while w/o trying to banter back and force over somthing silly (just my opinion for whatever its worth).
I wouldn't worry about offending anyone as some people are more easily than others.

The Maxima is an awesome performing, practical car that is affordable...it appeals to enthusiasts from 16-60 years old. I've had a few BMW, Mercedes, and Porsche owners trade in their "sports cars" for a 4-door vehicle that could outperform their trade in with a cabin full of adults!
With the current aftermarket support and the release of a 6speed manual transmission, I see the Maxima growing strong over the next few years. The future looks bright for Nissan. Hang in there!
